South Korea: Major steel mills raise domestic scrap buy prices by up to $21/t

Hyundai Steel, Posco and Dongkuk Steel are increasing scrap purchase prices temporarily from 5 Jan’22 to 15 Jan, as per SteelDaily reports.
Hyundai’s Incheon and Dangjin mills raised prices for all grades, excluding saengcheol, by KRW 25,000/t ($21/t).
Posco has raised lightweight scrap prices for Gwangyang and Pohang by KRW 10,000/t ($8/t) and KRW 20,000/t ($17/t), respectively.
Dongkuk’s Incheon plant lifted prices by KRW 20,000/t ($17/t) for all grades.
