South Africa, the world third-largest Pig iron exporter, after USA and Italy, has exported 312,375 MT Pig iron in 2016, according to the trade data released by South African Customs.
In 2016, Pig iron exports have witnessed a downfall of 28% Y-o-Y as exports remained at 433,672 MnT in 2015.
In Dec’16, South African Pig iron exports was registered at 23,533 MT against 37,695 MT, witnessed a downfall of 37.5% M-o-M. On contrary, exports have moved up by 16.6% Y-o-Y as it was 20,171 MT in Dec’15.
Country-wise South African Pig iron exports in 2016
- USA, the largest importer of South African Pig iron has imported 92,793 MT Pig iron in 2016 against 152,702 MT in 2015. In Dec’16, the country exported 42 MT Pig iron against 5,600 MT Pig iron to USA in Nov’16.
- Netherlands, the second largest Pig iron importer of South African Pig iron has imported 58,220 MT Pig iron in 2016 against 93,451 MT in 2015. In Dec’16, the country exported 4,000 MT, up by 100% M-o-M and 100%Y-o-Y to Netherlands.
- Italy, the third largest Pig iron exporter to South Africa has exported 43,423 MT in 2016 against 45,519 MT in 2015. In Dec’16, the country exported 8,012 MT against 10,000 MT in Nov’16. In Dec’15, the country exported 6,000 MT Pig iron.
