South Africa: Glencore’s ferro chrome production falls by 3%, y-o-y, in Q1CY’22

Glencore’s ferro chrome production decreased by 3% y-o-y to 387,000 t in Q1CY’22 from 399,000 t Q1CY’21. Glencore expects to reach 1.5 mnt of ferro chrome production in CY’22, while in CY21 production stood at 1.46 mnt. According to the company’s quarterly production report, the fall in production was caused by tight physical market conditions and market volatility.
