South Africa: Around 5,000 t chrome concentrate traded at Chinese port

A total of 5,000 t of South African chrome ore concentrate was traded at China’s Tianjin Port yesterday. The trade for UG2 40-42% chrome concentrates (Cr/Fe 1.3min) was concluded at RMB 48/dmt (around $270/t) CIF Tianjin Port (excluding VAT), with shipping latest by end-May’22, sources informed. Rising high sea freight rates and floods in South Africa are driving chrome ore prices higher.
