Mongolia’s coal exports to China set to increase in 2022

Mongolia, a key coal exporter to China, is likely to increase exports with the completion of a new rail line by Jul’22 that would run across 240 km connecting mining complexes to the Mongolia-China border port. The line will have a coal transport capacity of 30-50 mnt per year and is expected to reduce export costs from $32/t to $8/t.
