Japan’s Crude Steel Production Moves up Marginally in Jul’16

As per Japan’s latest customs data, country’s crude steel output has registered a minor increase of 1.36% in Jul’16 against previous month and is recorded at 8.88 MnT.

If Y-o-Y comparison is done then country’s crude steel production in Jul’16 surged by 4% against Jul’15 during which the same stood at 8.53 MnT.

In first seven months of year 2016 from Jan-Jul, country’s crude steel output totalled to 60.85 MnT, down by 1% against 61.58 MnT in corresponding period of previous year.

Flat Products Output

Japan’s HRC production moved up by 9% in Jul’16, M-o-M basis and stood at 3.84 MnT. Its CRC output also increased by 7% on monthly basis and stood at 1.58 MnT. However, country’s plates output registered a fall of 9% and stood at 0.85 MnT in Jul’16.

From Jan’16 to Jul’16, country’s HRC production stands at 25.86 MnT, CRC output is at 10.68 MnT and plates production is recorded at 5.97 MnT.
