Japanese ferrous scrap exports rise 29% m-o-m in Feb’21

Ferrous scrap export from Japan was recorded at 0.62 mn t in Feb’21, as against 0.48 mn t in Jan’21, as per data maintained with SteelMint. South Korea remained the largest importer with 0.24 mn t followed by Vietnam and Taiwan. Monthly export to South Korea has rebounded in Feb’21. However, due to concerns of vessel availability and volatile freight rates may limit export volumes of Mar’21.
