Japan: Manganese ore imports surge by 118% m-o-m in Nov’22

Japan’s manganese ore imports surged by 118% to 114,540 t in Nov’22 against 52,629 t in Oct’22.
The decrease in inventory and a fall in prices of raw materials during the month caused a rise in manganese ore imports.
Major exporters were South Africa at 52,000 t, up by 167% m-o-m, Australia at 21,990 t, and Gabon at 40,550 t.
In Jan-Nov’22, manganese ore imports totalled 861,907 t up by 5% y-o-y.
