- Japan’s iron ore and pellets imports increased by 20.2% m-o-m to 9.57 mnt in Jan’23 from 7.96 mnt in Dec’22, as per Customs data.
- Australia was the top exporter with 5.73 mnt, followed by Brazil with 2.36 mnt.
- However, import volumes decreased slightly by 1.1% y-o-y against 9.67 mnt in Jan’22.
