Japan’s iron ore and pellets imports increased by 20.2% m-o-m to 9.57 mnt in Jan’23 from 7.96 mnt in Dec’22, as per Customs data. Australia was the top exporter with 5.73 mnt, followed by Brazil with 2.36 mnt. However, import volumes decreased slightly by 1.1% y-o-y against 9.67 mnt in Jan’22.
