Krakatau Steel along with Zhongnan Steel, China, have decided to restart the blast furnace and produce billets at Cilegon Steel works from Dec’22. The operation is divided into three phases:
1. Installation of new wire rods mill with annual capacity of 600,000 t
2. Installation of new converter to secure annual billets production of 1.5 mnt
3. To complete the re-operation of BF and produce 2.2 mnt/y billets.
