India’s thermal coal imports expected to rise around 25% in June

India’s thermal coal imports are expected to rise 25% m-o-m to 18.4 mnt in June, 2022, as per CoalMint vessel data. Imports from Indonesia are seen at around 14 mnt due to the persistent domestic coal supply crunch. Shipments from South Africa and Australia should be around 1.7 mnt and 1.3 mnt, respectively, while vessel arrivals from Russia are set to rise to 0.6 mnt due to competitive prices.
