India’s coal production rises 12% y-o-y in Sep’22

India’s coal production increased by 12% y-o-y to 57.93 mnt in Sep’22 compared to 51.72 mnt in Sep’21. However, production saw a modest drop m-o-m against 58.33 mnt in Aug’22. Out of the total production, the contribution of Coal India was 45.67 mnt while Singareni Collieries Company produced 4.93 mnt. The remaining 7.33 mnt came from a mixed bag of captive and merchant miners.
