Indian DRI, billet, rebar update – 26 Jun

  • Jalna sees INR 800/t price hike in rebars
  • Trade stays moderate amid cautious sentiment

India’s induction furnace (IF) steel market witnessed positive sentiments on 26 June, with mills’ offers increasing by INR 100-800/tonne (t) d-o-d.

Sponge iron prices increased by INR 10-200/t d-o-d, with the highest rise of INR 200/t seen in Durgapur and raipur.

Billet tags increased by INR 50-600/t d-o-d, with the steepest rise of INR 600/t recorded in Mumbai.

Rebar (Fe 500) prices increased in the range of INR 100-800/t d-o-d. The sharpest rise of INR 800/t was seen in Jalna.

Overall, the market witnessed a slight rise in offers. Trades were moderate throughout the day, as buyers remained cautious regarding bulk bookings.
