Surplus domestic coal availability in the country could be attributed to the reduction in coal imports. As coal being imported by power utilities for blending with domestic coal has been decreasing. Reduction in Jun’17 coal imports was affected by Monsoon season and the confusion regarding GST implementation around the country.
