Brazil Pig Iron Exports Fall by 11% in June 2017

Brazil, the world’s second-largest Pig iron exporter, has exported about 0.16 MnT Pig iron in June 2017, according to trade statistics released by Brazilian customs.

The exports have registered a downfall of 11% M-o-M in June’17 against 0.18 MnT in May’17.

While, on Y-o-Y in June 2017 exports gained by 6.67% against 0.15 MnT in June 2016.

Further, in the first Half of 2017, the country’s total export for pig iron was at 1.05 MnT; up by 3.96% as compared to 1.01 MnT in the same preceding last year.

The largest importer of Brazilian Pig iron during June 2017 was Mexico (0.06 MnT), inline is United States (0.05 MnT), Netherland (0.02 MnT) & Italy (0.02 MnT).

In the month, the major export were from the ports of Vitoria (45%), Rio De Janeiro (44%) & Sao Luis (11%).

In the total pig iron exports during CY 2017 (Jan-June), the favorable export destination of Brazilian pig iron was – United States (39.8%), Netherlands (16.97%), Italy (12.32%) & Taiwan (10.58%).
