India: SAIL’s Bhilai Steel Plant rolls out world’s longest rails

State-run SAIL rolled out 2,518 t of 130-metre long rails, the longest in the world, on 24 Aug’21 from its Universal Rail Mill at Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP), the company informed in a latest tweet. The company has surpassed its previous record of 2,510 t of rails produced on 9 Aug’21 from the same mill. BSP is now rolling R260 grade rail with 60E1 profile to meet the requirement of Indian Railways.
