Melting scrap prices moved north in major scrap-based markets on 12 Jul’21. Prices moved up by around INR 500-600/t on account of improving sponge iron, semi-finished and finished steel prices. However, scrap prices in markets in eastern and central India, particularly Raipur and Durgapur, remained stable. Prices might witness minor fluctuations in the near term, trade sources told SteelMint.
