- HRC and CRC prices increase INR 800/t
- Coated steel sees sharper INR 2,000/t hike
A leading Indian primary steel mill has increased prices of flat steel products effective 1 October 2026. HRC and CRC prices have been raised by INR 800/t, while coated steel prices have been increased by INR 2,000/t.
Including increases implemented during September, the mill’s total price hike between 1 September and 1 October stands at INR 2,800/t for HRC and CRC and INR 4,000/t for coated steel.
HRC and CRC prices increase
The mill’s effective prices are around INR 63,350/t for HRC and INR 71,600/t for CRC. HRC and CRC prices have increased by INR 800/t effective 1 October, following INR 2,000/t increases implemented during September.
The latest revision comes amid improving demand, higher input costs and relatively tight availability of flat steel in some regional markets.
Coated steel sees sharper increase
The mill’s effective prices are around INR 83,750/t for GP and INR 89,000/t for PPGI. Coated steel prices have been raised by INR 2,000/t effective 1 October, following an INR 2,000/t increase during September.
The sharper increase reflects higher input and operating costs and efforts by mills to improve realisations for value-added products.
Outlook
Flat steel prices are expected to remain supported in the near term on higher mill offers, improving demand and elevated input costs. However, the extent to which these increases translate into trade-level prices will depend on downstream buying activity and market acceptance of higher offers.
