India: NALCO cuts aluminium price by INR 11,500/t amid weaker LME

  • NALCO aluminium prices decline amid weaker LME
  • Chinese exports add pressure to aluminium prices

National Aluminium Company Ltd. (NALCO) reduced its aluminium price by INR 11,500/t, or 3.2%, to INR 351,200/t on 1 October 2026 from INR 362,700/t on 24 September.

The LME three-month aluminium contract declined by $145/t, or 4.4%, to $3,122/t on 2 October from $3,267/t on 25 September. The decline was driven by a stronger US dollar, expectations of improving global supply, higher Chinese exports and easing concerns over Middle East supply disruptions. Markets in China were also closed for the Golden Week holiday, contributing to thin trading volumes.

Meanwhile, LME aluminium stocks declined marginally by 1,000 t, or 0.4%, to 240,375 t on 2 October from 241,375 t on 25 September. Despite the drawdown, inventories remained near historically low levels, providing some underlying support to prices.
