India: Dry bulk coal freights gain in Pacific; Atlantic market remains weak

India’s dry bulk coal freights showed mixed trends w-o-w, strengthening in the Pacific basin on higher fixtures, while the South Africa-India route weakened as traders diverted cargoes to South Korea and Sri Lanka.

  • Hay Point-Paradip: Freights rose $0.64/dmt w-o-w to $18.3/dmt.
  • RBCT-Paradip: Rates dropped by $0.3/dmt to $14.5/dmt.
  • East Kalimantan-Paradip: Freights increased $1.61/dmt to $15.39/dmt.
