Steel exports from China stood at 13.17 mnt in Q1CY’22, down sharply by 25.5% as against 17.68 mnt in the same period last year, as per General Administration of Customs. In March, exports from China rose by 37% to 4.95 mnt versus 3.62 mnt in Feb on easing production curbs, increased demand from Europe amidst Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and subdued domestic demand due to COVID-19 resurgence.
