China, the world’s largest consumer and importer of iron ore, has recorded run of mine (ROM) iron ore production at 87.87 mn t in Jun’21, up against 87.61 mn t in May, according to data by the National Bureau of Statistics. On a yearly basis, output increased by 12%, as Jun’20 production had remained low due to the impact of COVID-19. In the Jan-Jun’21 period, China’s crude iron ore production stood at 473.42 mn t.
