China: Iron ore spot prices rise marginally

The spot price of iron ore rose due to a mild recovery in buying interest for medium-grade fines on 4 May’22. Benchmark Fe 62% fines prices inched up by $0.55/t to settle at $142.9/t CFR China. Market activity was subdued as China was away for holidays. Furthermore, prices of low-grade fines rose rapidly over Apr on thin steel margins in China.
