Shipbreaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang market declined further by INR 1,000/t d-o-d, as per SteelMint assessment. HMS (80:20) prices are assessed at INR 48,000/t exy. Low demand, lack of purchase enquiries for scrap on higher prices along with the lack of support from the semis and finished steel markets forced suppliers to reduce offers in the spot market.
