China: Indonesia accounts for over 60% of coal imports in Dec’21

China imported 27.80 mnt of coal from Indonesia, Russia, Australia, Canada and South Africa, accounting for 89.8% of total imports, in Dec’21. Indonesian coal accounted for about 60% of total imports. Indonesia is the world’s largest exporter of thermal coal, with an export volume of about 400 mnt in 2020.
