Bangladesh: Coal imports surge over 40% m-o-m in Oct’22

Bangladesh’s coal imports continued to rise for the fourth consecutive month to 1.1 mnt in Oct’22. Imports surged by 44% m-o-m amid increased power demand, CoalMint notes. Shipments from Indonesia were the highest at 1 mnt due to its relatively cheaper coal prices over other origins. Imports from South Africa and Canada were at 0.05 mnt each.
