India: JSL’s profit more than halves y-o-y in Q2CY22

  • Indian leading stainless-steel maker Jindal Stainless reported that its Q2CY22 profit more than halved to 159.11 crores as against 407.47 in the same period last year.
  • On a q-o-q basis, it was down by 50.48% as against 331.32 crores in Q1CY22.

India’s stainless steel industry has been facing tough competition from Chinese and Indonesian manufacturers who have been dumping products in the domestic market.
