Australia: Rio Tinto sees record bauxite output in Q1CY’25

Rio Tinto witnessed a strong start to 2025, achieving its highest-ever quarterly bauxite production of 15 mnt in Q1CY’25, up 12% y-o-y. Alumina output rose 3% y-o-y to 2 mnt, supported by full capacity at QAL. Primary aluminium output remained steady at 829,000 t, while recycled aluminium reached 66,000 y, down 11% y-o-y but up 14% q-o-q.
