Australian premium hard coking coal prices were recorded at $504/t FOB on 4 Mar’22, up $29/t d-o-d. Meanwhile, Australian low-volatile PCI coal prices were assessed at $420/t FOB, up $20/t d-o-d. Western sanctions on Russia and rising global energy prices are supporting all grades of Australian coal prices. On the top of that, supplies have been affected due to heavy rains in Queensland further boosting prices.
