According to the recent provisional data released by World Steel Association (WSA), the total crude steel production of 66 steel manufacturing countries for Feb’17 has registered a fall of 8% M-o-M basis and was recorded at 126.6 MnT in Feb’17 against 137.8 MnT in Jan’17.
On yearly basis, world crude steel production made the hike of 4% in Feb’17 against Feb’16. In Feb’16 world crude steel production was recorded at 121.6 MnT.

China crude steel output fall 10% in Feb’17 – China’s crude steel output has fallen by 10% M-o-M in Feb’17 from 67.6 MnT in Jan’17 to 61.2 MnT in Feb’17. On yearly basis, the crude steel production has increased by 5% compared to 58.5 MnT in Feb’16.
Japan crude steel production down 7% in Feb’17 – In Feb’17 nation’s crude steel reported a decline of 7% M-o-M basis to 8.3 MnT against 9.0 MnT in Jan’17. On Y-o-Y basis, Japan’s crude steel production has remained stable as in Feb’16, Japan’s crude steel output was recorded at 8.3 MnT.
India’s crude steel production down 6% in Feb’17 – India’s crude steel output has come down by 6% in Feb’17 to 8.1 MnT in contrast to 8.7 MnT in Jan’17. However, on Y-o-Y basis, India’s crude steel output has moved up significantly by 8%, Y-o-Y basis as in Feb’16, India’s crude steel output was registered at 7.45 MnT.
South Korea crude steel output down 4% in Feb’17 – South Korea’s crude steel production was recorded at 5.5 MnT down by 4% in Feb’17 against 5.7 MnT in Jan’17. Thus country’s crude steel output has moved up by 8% on yearly basis in Feb’17 against 5.1 MnT in Feb’16.
