- Manganese alloys gain on improving market demand
- Ferro silicon prices slide post Bhutan’s June announcements
Indian silico manganese (60-14) prices inched up by INR 425/t ($4/t) w-o-w to INR 74,400-75,400/t ($778-787/t) across key markets. Prices edged higher due to improving domestic and export demand, strengthening seller confidence and enabling smelters to maintain firm offers.
Meanwhile, HC 65-16 silico manganese export prices edged up by $1/t to $906/t FOB Vizag/Haldia.
However, State-owned MOIL Limited has cut manganese ore prices, effective 1 June 2026. Prices of ferro grades with over 44% Mn content were decreased by 6%, while grades below 44% saw a 5% drop. Within the SMGR segment, prices of Mn 30%, Mn 25%, fines, and chemical grades were also reduced by 5%.
Ferro manganese prices hold mostly stable w-o-w
Indian ferro manganese (70%) prices remained largely stable, with slight rise w-o-w by INR 400/t ($4/t) to INR 78,400/t ($819/t) in Raipur and by INR 300/t ($3/t) to INR 78,300/t ($817/t) in Durgapur. The increase was driven by improved buying interest and firm market sentiment, which supported a modest rise in ferro manganese prices.
Meanwhile, export prices for the 75% grade also went up by $4/t w-o-w to $912/t FOB Vizag/Haldia.
Imported manganese ore prices continue to drop w-o-w
Imported manganese ore prices decline w-o-w. Australian Mn46% was at $5.8/dmtu, down by $0.4/dmtu, Gabonese Mn44% prices stood at $5.69/dmtu, down by $0.11/dmtu, and South African Mn37% stood at $4.78/dmtu, down by $0.09/t w-o-w.
Additionally, South32 cut Jul’26 Mn37% offers by $0.15 to $4.85/dmtu, while Eramet Comilog reduced Mn44.5% to $5.18 and Mn43% to $4.98, both down $0.27 m-o-m.
Ferro chrome prices increase w-o-w on tight supplies
India high-carbon ferro chrome (HC 60%, Si 4%) prices rose by INR 1,200/t ($13/t) w-o-w to INR 122,200/t ($1,274/t) ex-works Jajpur.Prices increased due to tight supply, supported by strong auction bids, favourable export arbitrage, and steady procurement from end users.
Ferro silicon prices slide post Bhutan’s price announcements
India ferro silicon (Si 70%) prices fell by INR 1,500/t ($16/t) w-o-w to INR 98,500/t ($1,028/t) ex-works Guwahati, while Bhutan prices also went down by INR 1,400/t ($15/t) to INR 98,600/t ($1,029/t). Prices dropped following Bhutan’s offer declaration for this month at INR 99,000/t ($1,034/t) exw.
Noble alloys prices reflect mixed trends w-o-w
India ferro molybdenum prices surged by INR 123,000/t ($1,284/t) w-o-w to INR 4,223,000/t ($44,088/t) ex-works. Prices increased sharply due to higher molybdenum oxide costs, which raised production expenses and supported stronger ferro molybdenum pricing.
Indian ferro vanadium prices declined by INR 12,000/t ($125/t) w-o-w to INR 1,400,000/t ($14,616/t) ex-works Raipur. The domestic market remained under pressure due to weak trading activity, cautious buying from alloy and steel producers, ample supply, and limited cost support, prompting buyers to defer fresh purchases.
India’s ferro titanium market remained largely stable during the week ended 4 June 2026, despite a slight price decline of INR 5,000/t. Firm raw material costs and steady demand from end-users continued to provide support to the market. Ferro titanium prices were assessed at INR 355,000 per tonne (approximately $3,706/t) ex-works India, indicating a broadly balanced market with limited price volatility and stable underlying fundamentals.
