USA: Pig Iron Imports at 3.8 MnT in 2016

USA, the world largest Pig iron importer, has imported 3.86 MnT Pig iron in 2016, according to the trade data released by USA Customs.

In 2016, Pig iron imports have witnessed a downfall of 14% Y-o-Y as imports remained at 4.53 MnT in 2015.

In Dec’16, USA Pig iron imports was registered at 236,322 MT, witnessed a downfall of 15% M-o-M as it was 179,510 MT in Nov’16. On similar lines, imports have also moved down by 13% Y-o-Y as it was 271,518 MT in Dec’15.Country-wise USA Pig iron imports in 2016

1. Russia, the largest exporter of Pig iron to USA exported 2.22 MnT Pig iron in 2016 against 2.28 MT in 2015. In Dec’16, the country exported 180,936 MT Pig iron, up by 53% M-o-M and 0.7% Y-o-Y.
2. Ukraine, the second largest Pig iron exporter has exported 684,850 MT Pig iron in 2016 against 476,229 MT in 2015. In Dec’16, the country’s exports remained nil against 44,180 MT in Nov’16. 
3. Brazil, the third largest Pig iron exporter to USA has exported 704,696 MT in 2016 against 1,550,102 MT in 2015. In Dec’16, the country exported 30,667 MT against zero exports in Nov’16. In Dec’15, the country exported 91,448 MT Pig iron.
