USA: Ferrous scrap exports drop 18% on month in Dec’21

US ferrous scrap exports fell by 18%, m-o-m, to 1.09 mnt in Dec’21 against 1.33 mnt in November, as per customs data.
Turkey was the top importer with 0.24 mnt, followed by Mexico and Taiwan with 0.18 mnt and 0.10 mnt, respectively.
On a year-on-year basis, too, US export volumes were down by 8% from 1.18 mnt in Dec’20.
