US government agency EIA has reported that during the week ended on 19th October 2013, US coal production totaled approximately 19.1 million short tons (mmst). Production has increased by 1.5% in comparison to last week and 1.7% higher than the production estimate in the comparable weeks in 2012.
Coal production from east of the Mississippi River totaled 7.9 mmst and from west of the Mississippi River totaled 11.3 mmst.
United States total coal production including Coking, Non-coking, Anthracite is 803.1 mmst which dropped by 2.1% than the comparable year-to-date coal production in 2012
