Indian Pig Iron Output Up 13% Y-o-Y in Sep 2013

World Pig Iron production has increased by 5.3% to a total of 880.34 MnT in Jan-Sept'13 in comparison to the same period last year.


In September'13, the global Pig Iron production decreased by 0.8 to 97.2 MnT in comparison to the August'13. 


Asia's Pig Iron output increased by 10% to 74.7 MnT, in which China's total production was 59 MnT and Japan was at 6.9 MnT.


India's total production was 4.1 MnT of Pig Iron, which was up by 13% on y-o-y basis.


EU countries produced 7.8 MnT of Pig iron, reporting an increase of 6%.


While, CIS produced 6.8 MnT of Pig Iron, showing a decline of 1% y-o-y basis.


This preliminary data was released by World Steel Association, which covers 38 countries and includes approximately 99% of the total world Blast furnace Pig Iron production.
