Ukraine's Pig Iron Exports increased; Black Sea Prices Constant

Exports of Pig iron from Ukraine increased in the month of May, this year.

It went up by 9% to 173,200 tons as compared to the previous month.

In the first five months of 2013, a total of 822,500 tons of Pig iron was exported and witnessed an increase of 12.2% as compared to the same period last year.

Imports of Pig iron to Ukraine came down sharply by 65% to 5,600 MT in January to May this year.

CIS Pig Iron Prices Constant

Producers of Pig iron based in the CIS are offering the material at similar prices, quoted in the mid of the month.

Offers from Ukraine are standing in the range of USD 380-395/MT FoB Black Sea.

Owing to summer holidays in Europe, demand is low and exporters fail to raise offers.
