UK: Ferrous scrap exports fall by over 25% m-o-m in Aug’24

UK’s ferrous scrap exports fell 26% m-o-m to 494,966 t in Aug’24 from 660,760 t in Jul’24. Exports fell 22% y-o-y from 632,777 t in Aug’23.
During Jan-Aug’24, exports were 4.73 mnt compared to 4.79 mnt in year-ago period.
Turkiye was the leading importer of ferrous scrap from the UK at 124,391 t, comprising around 25% of total volumes, followed by Pakistan at 83,619 t and India at 61,407 t.
