Two power plants in Tamil Nadu temporarily shut down amid coal shortage

Two thermal power plants in Tamil Nadu at Mettur and Thoothukudi, with a capacity of 210 MW each, have been temporaraily closed down on coal shortage due to disruption from Odisha, as per a Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (Tangedco) official. There has been 6-7 days delay in vessel berthing which is resulting in delay in transportation from the port to plants
