Two more Bulk Scrap Import Vessels reported at Bangladesh

According to the vessel line up data maintained with SteelMint, two bulk vessels are reported to arrive in Bangladesh shortly.

One bulk vessel, which was booked from Netherlands (Ijmuiden) carrying 41,770 MT scrap in the vessel named ‘Endless Horizon’ is expected to arrive on the port Chittagong-the most preferred port of Bangladesh on 28th Jul’17.

Another bulk vessel named ‘Unicorn Ocean’ is expected to arrive on the same port of Chittagong on 29th Jul’17. The vessel carrying scrap from Tacoma USA and loaded with 35,200 MT ferrous scrap will be unloaded in the Bangladesh port shortly.

Bangladesh has significantly raised its bulk ferrous scrap imports with expanding steel capacities and it imported 0.80 MnT ferrous scrap in Bangladesh FY17 against 0.47 MnT in previous fiscal.

Steel making capacities in Bangladesh on the rise – Present steel making capacity of Bangladesh is around 3-4 MnT which is expected to increase to 5 MnT in FY18. Major steel mills in the country include Abdul Khair , BSRRM, KSRM, KSRM, Rahim Group, SSRM etc.
