According to country’s official gazette, the Turkish Ministry of Economy has started an anti-dumping investigation into steel plate imported from China.
Erdemir – Turkey’s largest steel producer has made the application for the investigation, which relates to heavy steel plate. Chinese producers will have 37 days to answer questions from the Ministry of Economy, the Official Gazette said.
Application made covers following HS codes 7208.51.20.10.11, 7208.51.20.10.19, 7208.51.20.30.11, 7208.51.20.30.19, 7208.51.20.90.11, 7208.51.20.90.19, 7208.90.80.10.11, 7208.90.80.10.12, 7208.90.80.20.11, 7208.90.80.20.12, 7211.13.00.11.00, 7211.13.00.19.00, 7211.14.00.21.12, 7211.14.00.29.11, 7211.14.00.29.12, 7225.40.40.00.00, 7225.99.00.00.10 and 7225.99.00.00.90.
Turkey’s anti-dumping on seamless pipes and PPGI of Chinese origin – Earlier this year on 05 Aug’16, Turkish Ministry of Economy imposed anti-dumping duty on seamless pipes (under HS code 7304) imports from China for a span of six months. The anti dumping duty imposed was at the rate of USD 100-120/MT depending on the producer.
Apart from this Turkey has also imposed 23.4% anti-dumping duty on import of PPGI sheets from China.
Turkey flat steel imports in CY16 – Turkey imported 5.58 MnT flat steel in CY16 (till Oct’16), up 4% Y-o-Y. Out of this, 0.24 MnT flat steel was imported from China.
Out of 5.58 MnT flat steel imported by Turkey from Jan’16-Oct’16, share of HR coils/sheets was 61%, electrical sheets – 28% and that of CR coils was 11%.
From Jan’15-Oct’15, Turkey imported 5.38 MnT flat steel.
