TNPL, a state-owned company, has invited bids for procurement of 0.4 MnT imported Non-coking coal, delivered at plant siding at Pugalur, Tamil Nadu.
Tamil Nadu Newsprint & Papers Limited (TNPL) is looking for procurement of 400,000 MT imported Non-coking coal to meet the operational requirement for its plant at Pugalur.
Scope of Work
Scope of work includes supply of imported Non-coking coal on C&F Karaikal basis and arranging delivery of the material at TNPL site by wagons including all stevedoring activities, handling, arranging railway rakes, loading, transportation etc.
Important details regarding Tender
Material: Non-coking coal of Indonesian/ Australian / South African/ Chinese origin
Quantity: 400,000 MT +/- 5%
Price: Quoted price should be in USD/MT based on C&F Karaikal basis inclusive of all port charges (both loading and discharge ports). Quoted prices should be firm throughout the entire duration of supply period.

Total Moisture (ARB): 18%
Ash (ADB): 8% max
VM (ADB): 25 to 45%

Delivery Schedules
The company requires the material in the following mentioned delivery schedules and dates at Karaikal port.
- 1st Shipment : 60,000 MT till 25 Apr’15
- 2nd Shipment : 60,000 MT til 15 May’15
- 3rd Shipment: 60,000 MT till 15 Jun’15
- 4th Shipment: 60,000 MT till 15 Jul’15
- 5th Shipment: 60,000 MT till 15 Aug’15
- 6th Shipment: 50,000 MT till 15 Sep’15
- 7th Shipment: 50,000 MT till 5 Oct’15
Eligibility criteria for tender applicants will include experience of supplying at least 400,000 MT coal to any industrial units in India. Due date for submission of technical and price bids will be 23 Mar’15 at 15.00 hrs.
Note: Material should be supplied in a vessel size of not less than 40,000 MT per shipment.
Earlier on 19 Nov’14, TNPL had floated a global purchase tender for purchase of 300,000 MT imported Non-coking coal with scheduled technical and price bids to closed on 01 Dec’14.
