Thermal coal offer price (ex- plot) rises on delayed shipment from Indonesia

Market for thermal
coal in the past few days have witnessed slight movement in prices and demand on
the back of less availability of material from Indonesia.

Currently, Indonesian
coal of 5300 GCV (ADB) with an ash content of 8-10% maximum and total moisture
of 39% is available at Rs 2,850 (taxes extra loaded) at various ports (Paradeep, Kandla, Vizag). Whereas, 6300 GCV (ADB) Indonesian coal considered
as one of the high grade coal is available at Rs 4,950 (taxes extra loaded) ash content 7 +/- 2% and total moisture of 20 +/- 2%.Total quantity available for sale of material (6300 GCV) is 3800 +/- 10% equivalent to a rake and minimum 500MT for 5300 GCV.

South African 6500
GCV (ADB) coal with an ash content of 14-16% and total moisture of 8.5% is
available at Rs 6,200 (taxes extra loaded). Quantity offered is 3800 +/-10% equivalent to a rake and the material is available at Gangavaram Port.  

The above materials are available on the respective ports through
Coal Junction on Stock and Sales basis said an importer based in Raipur on the
condition of anonymity. However shipments to be loaded in the end of March
and April first week for Indonesian 5300 GCV are at $46-48/MT (CNF India) he
further added.
