OMC Iron ore price bids to be opened on March 23

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government owned miner OMC has invited a
fresh price setting tender for the April quarter for sale of different grades
of sized iron ore from its different mines at Barbil, Gandhamardan &
Daitari region in Keonjhar District and Koira region in Sundargarh District.

The technical bid can be submitted by the 21st of this month and price bids by the 23rd.

A total of 75,000 tons of sized iron ore of 62 and 65 grades are
on offer and out of this, 5,000 tons of 62 grade iron ore is from Barbil region,
10,000 tons of 62 grade from Gandhamardan region, 40,000 tons of 62 grade
and 5,000 tons of 65 grade is from Koira region.

On the other hand, 15,000
tons of 62 grade sized iron ore from Daitari region is on offer for sale.

Bidders with own sponge iron, pig iron and steel plants can
participate in the tender.

State based iron ore crusher units can participate
in the tender for the 5,000 ton 62 grade iron ore from Barbil region only.

However, any agency having iron ore lease will not be eligible to participate
in the tender.

This tender will set the price for the April Quarter. During the
current quarter, the prices of
 62 grade
sized iron ore of Barbil region and Gandhamardan region had been fixed at
Rs 3,500 and Rs 3,504 respectively.

However, the 62 and 65 grade sized iron ore
of Koira region had been fixed at Rs 5,354 and Rs 6,711 respectively.

On the
other hand, prices of 62 grade iron ore of Daitari region had been fixed at Rs 4,000.
