Thailand: Steel billets imports rise three-fold, m-o-m, in Mar’22

Thailand’s steel billets imports rose sharply by 206% in Mar’22 to 0.28 mnt compared with 0.09 mnt in Feb’22, as per data recently released by customs.
Oman was the largest exporter with 0.16 mnt, followed by Japan at 0.07 mnt.
However, import volumes fell significantly by 35% y-o-y to reach 0.63 mnt in Jan-Mar’22 as against 0.98 mnt in Jan-Mar’21.
