Thailand: Steel billet imports rise over 55%, m-o-m, in Jun’22

Thailand’s steel billet imports rose sharply by 55.94% m-o-m to 0.37 mnt in Jun’22 compared to 0.24 mnt in May’22, as per data recently released by customs.
Oman was the largest exporter with 0.26 mnt followed by Japan with 0.04 mnt.
However, import volumes fell by 14% y-o-y to 1.59 mnt in Jan-Jun’22 as against 1.85 mnt in the year-ago period.
