Tata Steel’s provisional numbers for the fourth quarter of FY18 are out and the company’s production for the same has plunged marginally to 3.02 MnT against corresponding year of previous fiscal FY16-17. However, for the complete fiscal year 2017-18, the company’s production increased to 12.26 MnT from 11.35 MnT in previous fiscal. According to the reports.
Key Performance Highlights
• Blast Furnace achieved hot-metal production of 10.95 MnT in FY18 against 10.83 MnT in FY17.
• Saleable steel production during the fiscal year FY18 was 9.78 MnT against 9.70 MnT in previous fiscal year.
• Tata Steel achieved highest ever annual sales of 12.13 MnT in fiscal year 2017-18 and registered a growth of 11% during the year.
• The highest ever sales were achieved by the company in the automotive sector that registered a growth of 21% for the financial year 2017-18 against an industry growth of 14% that was mainly driven by 2-wheelers and 3-wheelers segment.
• The company achieved annual sales growth of 9% y-o-y basis in branded products and retail sector in FY18.
• Tata Steel highest-ever annual sales in value added segments of hot rolled products coupled with 2 times growth in engineering segment (over last year) of the Industrial products & construction business.
• The company also attained annual exports of 1 MnT in fiscal year 2017-18.
