TANGEDCO’s Global Purchase Tender for 3.9 MnT Imported Steam Coal

TANGEDCO has floated a global tender for purchase of 3.9 MnT imported steam coal of any origin.

Tamil Nadu Generation & Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO) has intended to purchase a total quantity of 3.9 MnT imported steam coal of any origin for the period of 6 months, starting from May’16-Nov’16.

Out of the total quantity, 3.1 MnT is required at Kamarajar Port (Ennore) or Karaikal Port and 0.8 MnT at VOC Port/Tuticorin in order to fulfill generation targets of TANGEDCO’s thermal power stations.

Bid qualification requirement for bidders

1. Should have supplied 1 MnT imported steam coal of any origin in past 4 preceding fiscal years, starting FY12-FY15.
2. Must have annual average turnover of INR 10 bn during past 4 financial years (FY12-FY15).
3. Should have valid tie-ups with mine owners till the completion of contract.
4. Consortiums are not allowed to participate.

Bid should be quoted in USD/MT on CIF basis. The CIF prices to be quoted will be inclusive of all vessel related port charges and should remain firm for the entire scope of supply.

Delivery of the material will commence from May’16 and to be completed by Nov’16 for supplies to VOC Port or Tuticorin and Kamarajar Port (Ennore) or Karaikal Port.
