Taiwan: Steel billet imports fall over 40%, m-o-m, in May

Taiwan’s steel billet imports fell 45.02% m-o-m in May’22 to 0.27 mnt from 0.48 mnt in Apr, as per customs data.
Russia was the leading exporter at 0.16 mnt, followed by Japan at 0.07 mnt.
However, import volumes increased marginally by 4% to 1.68 mnt on year in Jan-May’22 as against 1.61 mnt in the year-ago period.
