Taiwan: Steel billet imports decline by 21% y-o-y in CY22

Taiwan’s steel billet imports decreased by 21% to 3.3 mnt in CY22 as against 4.17 mnt recorded in the previous calendar year, as per data recently released by customs.
Russia was the largest exporter at 1.53 mnt, followed by Japan at 0.86 mnt.
In Dec’22, the country’s billet imports fell by 33% m-o-m to 170,342 t compared to 254,755 t in Nov’22.
